Whew! Now that's out of the way. Let's get to the good stuff!
You had to know this was coming. Just had to. LOL Surprise, surprise - Harry Potter!
Now mind you I do have a favorite in the series, though I love them all, and it's not the final book. Close enough, though, I guess, as my favorite Harry Potter book is The Half-Blood Prince. Up to this point in the books, the story was really focused on the adversities Harry and his friends had to face. In this book we get to see the gang take on an actual feelings of teenagehood. There was moments of jealousy, heartache, friendship, and first loves. It is here that we see a rift form between the trio and their a bond reform stronger than ever was. Maybe it's my love of romance, but to me the emotions of the trio were strongest in this book and it really resonated throughout book seven as they moved into the final battle at Hogwarts.
One of my favorite adult series is The Georgina Kincaid Series by Richelle Mead. Much like Harry Potter, I have a favorite that stands out with them all. In this case, however, it is the final book. Succubus Revealed is the fastest paced book of the series, and it's exactly as the title suggests, everything is revealed. Everytime I read this series, I find myself astounded at how she weaved little nuggets of info throughout the whole of the series, and looking back on them I can now see how every piece of the puzzle fit so perfectly together.
Actually, I just finished re-reading this series for the umpteenth time over the weekend. And no matter how many times I read it, I end up with a book hangover. It's an amazing series. One I highly recommend.
There comes a time when a book resonates so deep within you that you feel it for days on end after you've read it. Over the Fence by Melanie Moreland is one such book. A story about overcoming self doubt and finding love even when you weren't looking for it, Gnat and Chefgirl burrow a place into your heart and won't let go. I can't remember the last time I laughed, cried, and wanted to scream so much with one book. This book is weaved in such a way that every heartstring you own is pulled. If you like a good romance with a little steam and a bit of drama, I very much recommend you check out this book.
Tomorrow's topic is a bit deep, but we'll see how it goes. I'll keep it a secret for now. I'd hate to scare you away. HAHA!
