This was a fun assignment for me. For the 30-Day Challenge we were asked to put our music player on shuffle and write the first 3 songs that play and what our initial thoughts were about those songs. This is right up my alley. I love music. It's a constant muse for me. Music speaks to my soul. When I write, there's always music playing and if I can't find the right song, I often can't write. It's that simple. So, here we go. The first 3 songs that popped up on my iPod.
1. 21 Guns by Green Day
It's the lyrics of this song that make me think of my Edward. I feel that they speak of giving everything up for those you most care about and that's what my Edward did. But it's really the ending of the story that makes this song ring true to my Edward. He's faced with a travesty that leaves him feeling helpless. He falls apart. And as the song says, he was in ruins. But Edward knew what he was fighting for and he kept fighting. When all hope seemed lost, he kept fighting.
