So far the hardest issue I've encountered is feeling hungry when I know I'm full. The craving for excess carbs is a battle for me. I love pasta and bread. Like really, really love them. And while I'm not giving up all carbs, because let's face it...that would be lunacy, I am limiting my intake. My body isn't used to that and is therefore trying to trick my brain into thinking it's hungry to get what it wants. No dice, body. Mind over matter...remember.
First things first. I've signed up for an event that entices my inner nerd while forces my ass up off the sofa. Muddy Muggle is a marathon that caters to the Harry Potter lovers of the world. I presented the idea to my husband and he agreed it would be a great goal for me to achieve. Which means I must begin working towards that goal.
At a book signing earlier this year, a reader suggested I try the "The Couch to 5K" app. I downloaded that this morning and will begin working on those goals. But aside from getting to a point where I am running for fun, I also want fix a few problem areas on my body. I have flab in certain areas that really bothers me. I am researching workouts designed to help tone those areas.
